SUMMARY:Webinar: Growth/Development Experiences – Transcending our ‘Risks’
DESCRIPTION:Growth/Development Experiences – Transcending our ‘Risks’ with Alex MacFarlane\n\n\n\nThis online interactive facilitation is also part group discussion and information-giving workshop. It explores components that assist in attaining a deeper shift into self-transformation\, wellness\, and thriving. Self-transformation/maturation/personal development research has demonstrated that this process has components to it that are both specific for specific types as well as components that are more general across types. This session will focus upon ways and means we have overcome some of our “risks” inherited via both nature (type and temperament) and nurture. It will focus upon two overarching questions: \n\n\n\n1.       What have seemed to be my ‘Risks’ and how have I matured in overcoming or managing them? \n\n\n\n2.       What experiences….circumstances or events in my life have been catalysts to growth? \n\n\n\nAlex MacFarlane\n\n\n\nAbout your presenter: Alex MacFarlane\n\n\n\nAlex MacFarlane is a clinical and consultant psychologist specialised in the application of psychological type and temperament as a core therapeutic tool in clinical practice and consulting. Her work has involved private practice\, teaching\, training\, research and consulting. Her ongoing PhD studies the relationship of psychological type and pathways to optimal functioning. \n\n\n\nThis AusAPT event\, sponsored by the NSW/ACT chapter\, is open to all. \n\n\n\nThis is an online event via Zoom. SUMMARY:Personality Parts™ - New Perspectives on Type with Richard Owen
DESCRIPTION:Richard Owen from the UK presents a 2-hour introductory talk online for AusAPT members and guests who are already experienced and knowledgeable about type. The Personality Parts™ model is Richard’s work towards his conceptualisation and expansion of John Beebe’s 8 function/8 archetype model. It goes right back to the fundamental theory of Jung\, Beebe and MBTI\, challenging the way we have done things before and integrating broader psychological ideas\, towards new foundations that will take type forwards in its second 100 years. Be prepared to revisit some key questions: what is type? how does it come about? what is the unconscious mind? how does it affect my experience and relationships? \n\n\n\nRichard Owen\n\n\n\nAbout Richard Owen\n\n\n\nRichard Owen (INTJ) is a qualified Organisational Psychologist and Coach from Brighton\, UK. He is the current Treasurer and a Trustee of the BAPT (British Association for Psychological Type). Specialising in Jungian Type\, but having studied a range of trait and other models of personality\, Richard is interested in combining these different views and unifying them theoretically. He was mentored by John Beebe over a number of years and has created the Personality Parts™ model to help make the depth side of typology more accessible\, teaching it through workshops\, seminars and work with individuals and couples. \n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration: Please register in advance for this webinar by Tuesday 16 June.\n\n\n\nAfter registering\, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. We’d love you to attend live to make the session an interactive one. For those who can’t make it live\, the session will be recorded and a link to the recording will be sent to those who register. \n\n\n\n\nRegister for the webinar

To help us help you\, and our conference delegates\, we have streamlined our guidelines\, submission and selection processes. Delve into the Campbell’s monomyth and collective archetypal patterns through examples in Game of Thrones and popular film franchises\, with ‘choose-your-own-adventure’ heroic round-table activities that investigate type preferences in the call to adventure of your own journey. Peter Malone Can I Use Movies to Explore Type? Insights into how movies dramatize Type\, discussion\, helps for techniques in conducting sessions. We check our responses to movies\, look at and discuss clips illustrating aspects of Type\, try our abilities at recognising aspects without any labelling\, formulate a method for leading seminars on Type and Movies. For all practitioners – and movie buffs! Sue White Type Goes to Book Group Merve Emre’s book ‘What’s Your Type?’ is a controversial new publication about the MBTI. It made my mind buzz and I’m keen to discuss that buzz with other readers. Bring your own copy (cost approx 32.99AUD) and let’s have a stimulating Book Group responding and exploring the content\, ideas and criticisms she raises\, and you’ve identified! Evelynne Joffe The Fool’s Journey using Tarot Archetypes We will explore the Fool’s Journey using archetypes of the Major Arcana of the Tarot and the process towards individuation and wholeness through the journey. Each of these 22 cards represents a lesson the soul must learn in order to individuate\, to become an authentic Self. Sterling Bates Going into Best Fit – We Are All Doing it Wrong As type experts\, it’s critical to help others go through a “best- fit” process. What if the type community is approaching best-fit from the wrong direction for the 21st century?  Discover what years of research have revealed about using digital games\, tools and technology in best-fit. Learn what still works from the old best-fit process. Mary McGuiness Transformation at Midlife: The Transcendent Function The Individuation process integrates the contents of the unconscious and brings together all aspects of the individual into a complete\, whole and conscious Self. At midlife this leads to the emergence of the Transcendent Function. bringing a new consciousness of soul. In this session\, we will explore this process and how to facilitate this transformation. Meredith Fuller and Brian Walsh LOVE: Family of ORIGIN and Partner Attraction We will look at family of origin Types (the family you grew up with)\, and the nature of your relationship with each member – did you go with\, go against\, or withdraw from? How might these themes relate to that unconscious instant attraction we feel towards potential partners? Privately\, participants will draw family trees\, have a guesstimate of family members (for those of us who haven’t already typed them!) and explore the relationship dynamics.  Jane Kise Three Keys to Effective Type Exercises Making type visible through exercises is a key tool for helping individuals and teams improve ability to communicate\, collaborate\, and change. However\, there’s a world of difference between conducting an exercise and facilitating it successfully to change people’s mindsets. We’ll explore how to choose the “right” exercise\, form groups (especially when not all types are present)\, and debrief.    \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nHere is the detailed session information for Day 2 23 November: \n\n\n\nPresenter \n Session Title\n \n Description\n Roger Pearman Evidence of the Validity of Type from Multi-Rater Data Breakfast Session: Virtual presentation of a summary report of 360 data collected from people around the globe to look at evidence of the validity of Type. The first public presentation of this information\, the international TypeStudy Research Project was designed to collect both self-report and observer-report data which provides useful evidence for considering the validity of Type. Ian Ball John Beebe’s Eight Function-Attitude Archetype Model – Revisited The session draws on materials developed by the late Andrew Gibson and recent writing by Mark Hunziker. The model identifies archetypes that guide the way the eight function-attitudes are expressed within a single\, individual psyche. Two case studies: ISFP and ENFJ will illustrate the model. Does this model advance our understanding of ourselves and others? Sue DanielsThe Influence of Type on Career Success Today’s careers are influenced by many external factors that are out of our control such as: globalisation; corporate change and technology. SUMMARY:Priming the Alchemy of Opposites - Dario Nardi
DESCRIPTION:How can we overcome one-sidedness and integrate opposing functions into our lives? For example\, what might Thinking and Feeling look like when we use them in an integrated way in our daily lives? Jung described the tension of opposites as a source of energy and means to growth. But what does this process and its fruits look like in practice? In this session\, we explore type-specific ways to identify\, foster\, and transform tensions in healthy\, rewarding ways. We draw on “tandem dynamics”\, the “spine of the personality”\, and the “wisdom of the 6th function”. Includes reflective activities\, sharing\, and professional color handouts for use in your own workshops.  \n\n\n\nHere is an article as background: Wisdom on the Senex/Witch \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nYour presenter Dario Nardi\, PhD is world-renowned for his research on the neuroscience of personality. SUMMARY:HANDscapes and Type with Liz Hallows
DESCRIPTION:AusAPT pre-conference on HANDscapes and Type with Liz Hallows – free to conference participants. \n\n\n\nJoin in HANDscapes Action Research using your Palm Prints & Photos to compare YOU with Type-alike hands common to your MBTI® preference code. Liz’s day workshop focuses on C.G. Jung’s unique understanding of two opposite attitude orientations embedded in our Judging cognition\, he called Rational Extraverted and Rational Introverted. \n\n\n\nYour knowledge of the Jungian concepts is central to her HANDscapes brain-in-the -body research method so clear definitions describing the Judging function orientations are provided. This is your opportunity to explore and share how you consciously use your Judging function – Extraverted and Introverted. \n\n\n\nTo prepare\, please bring your Questionnaire results with Best-fit Type Review. Review via Google medical sites teaching “Nerve Enervation in the Hand”\, “Bones in the Hand”\, and “Palmar Crease Lines in Fetus Development”. \n\n\n\nDate: Wednesday\, November 20\, 2019  \n\n\n\nTime: 10:00 am – 4:30 pm – but come at 8.30am if you need your palms inked \n\n\n\nBOOKINGS: Essential. Please email Meredith Fuller: meredithfuller56@gmail.com \n\n\n\n\n\nAbout your presenter\,  Liz Hallows\, MEd (Counselling) \n\n\n\nSince 1969 (maybe due to the moon landing) I am passionate about observing Primate hands from around the world where I have lived. I have pondered how science could investigate correlations with Character assessments and Body features. In 1997 I designed my HANDscapes Research Method to pass my Masters in Education degree at QUT!  I set out to prove the null hypothesis: No hand feature out of a possible 235 could correlate with character assessment as set out in Palmistry claims. Since cognition underpins our behaviours\, I regarded the Jungian theory as best approach. Since the MBTI® and related questionnaires sort cognition preferences\, I chose them to use as the best\, most validated global research tool to correlate with permanent hand features. After 21 years of collecting Volunteer palm prints along with their MBTI® self-validated Results\, I have one feature\, our Upper Transverse Crease\, as a significant indicator of Jung’s theory stating we have a directional orientation in our judging function. To add to HANDscapes database\, please email me with clearly focused palm photos of your clients/family and their Type scores and clarity of preferences. EMAIL: hallowshandscapes@yahoo.com.
