SUMMARY:Webinar: An Exploratory Journey into Gender and Type at Work
DESCRIPTION:Dr Gunilla Burrowes leads an exploratory journey into gender and type in the workplace. \n\n\n\nHow can understanding type help workplaces become gender neutral & more inclusive? \n\n\n\nOur journey will start with an overview of the gender problem in the workplace and provide some definitions for our discussion. \n\n\n\nOur path is in 3 parts; with your help we will investigate: \n\n\n\n1. the judgment function differences2. the impact of gender norms on individualization\, and3. type theory to explain gender differences.\n\n\n\nDr Gunilla Burrowes\n\n\n\nAbout Dr Gunilla Burrowes\n\n\n\nAn electrical engineer with a broad range of industry and academic experience\, Dr Gunilla Burrowes is passionate about innovation and diversity. Her engineering career has led her on a parallel journey as a technical/business engineer and as a female engineer advocating for gender equity predominately in the STEM (Science Technology Engineering & Maths) areas. Gunilla is co-founder of a consultancy\, Gender Matters\, which advises organisations on gender equity and has a unique approach to mitigating unconscious and conscious bias in decision making.  She is a member of ATSE’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee. She has managed a Women in Engineering program at the University of Newcastle and was the instigator and leader of Engineers Australia’s very successful themed year 2007: The Year of Women in Engineering. \n\n\n\nIn 2000\, she founded an underwater technology company\, BlueZone Group with her husband and continues to support entrepreneurial companies through her Angel investing. She is the inaugural Chair of Eighteen04 (an inspirational co-working and incubator space for companies scaling in the clean tech and smart city start-up space) and an inaugural board member of Hunter iF project (an open consortium of leading organisations in the Hunter to support the growing startup ecosystem there).  \n\n\n\nTo register:\n\n\n\nPlease register in advance for this meeting.
